Jessica Meyers: Thank you so much.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Of course. Thanks. Yeah. So let’s jump in. What made you decide to go this route with your career and your passion and everything? Tell us your story.

Jessica Meyers: Yeah. So my story started when I was living in Italy. I had a roommate who uh started going to therapy and I got to be kind of this outsers’s perspective and see her journey before, during, and after therapy. It was incredible. like to see the confidence grow, to see the healing process kind of eb and flow and it was just really amazing to witness. So, it planted the seed of, oh, I want to help people in that same way. Like, I think that it would be such an honor to help people through that journey of healing. So, that’s kind of how I got started with therapy. And then I became a mom uh into my therapy journey and I was like, “Oh, motherhood, there’s a lot here. There’s a lot here.” Yeah. Moms need support. I also became a mom just a few months before the COVID pandemic. And I was on the other side of the country, far away from family, and I was like, support is so important. So, I started specializing in perinatal mental health. So, I still am a therapist, but in the last couple of months, I’ve felt this tug of like, uh, I should be brave and go online and put myself out there, put out this message and my education and my personal experience to help more moms. So, that’s why I’ve added coaching. So, um, now I’m not defined by just Utah State Lines. I can um see people and it’s honestly it’s been only two months and I’ve been able to connect with moms from different states, different countries and it’s just magical again, right? And so I’m like living my dream back in Italy of witnessing this healing process. So that’s kind of how I got started into therapy, perinatal mental health, and coaching.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Amazing. You’re just amazing. I when I met you just a few short months ago, I was like, “Wow, who is this person? She is a light. I want to talk to her more. I want to hang out with her.” So, I’m just excited that you’re here doing all these amazing great things both here locally in Utah and then across the world. So, thank you.

Jessica Meyers: Thank you.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Hey, talk to us about what makes your approach different and who’s an ideal fit for you. So, like who if I were listening to this like how would I know like, “Oh, this is me. I need to like learn more.”

Jessica Meyers: Yeah. you know, being online, I’ve found a lot of other amazing women, therapists and coaches who are doing very very similar things. So, I’ve had this thought like what does make me unique? Like how how what sets me apart? And I think it’s just my belief that the right people will find the right people, right? Like the stars will align. And I like the saying of when the student is ready, the teacher appears. And so I want to be that person, that light of hope for these moms who feel stuck and who feel overwhelmed and over stimulated. Those are so broad, but I just couldn’t figure out how better to describe.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Quite spot on, too. It’s like how moms feel.

Jessica Meyers: Yeah. Being pulled, the mental load, the invisible tasks, all of these things that just like make the motherhood experience so heavy. And so what makes me unique I would just probably say is I mean my personality will resonate with some and won’t with others and I’m totally okay with that. And I think that um moms hit this this I don’t really want to say breaking point but this pivotal point where they’re like something has got to change. And so I’m hoping that my reals or my posts will be that moment where they’re like okay I’m going to look into this. I’m curious, maybe there is some hope for me after trying all of these other things that haven’t worked.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Love that. Love that. Okay. Um, walk us through what the process to work with you is like. Like how do we how do we get signed up? How frequently do you meet with someone? What does it look like? Like a journey with you.

Jessica Meyers: Yeah. So, I’ll kind of briefly do two things with therapy because I am still practicing in Utah. Um, my therapy clients can’t be coaching clients and my coaching clients can’t be therapy clients. But if you’re if people are in the state of Utah and struggling during pregnancy, postpartum with like medical necessity, anxiety, depression, things like that, Yarrow Therapy is happy to help. So that’s therapy and that’s as needed. If it could be weekly, could be monthly, whatever you really need. For coaching, reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram, email me, and I’ve got one-on-one coaching that I can do. And then up and coming is a group coaching program as well as a course that I’m rolling out in the next couple of months.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Very exciting. Very exciting. Very cool. Okay. Um, walk us through something that you think that most people don’t know that they think that they should that you think that they should know about what you do and all the things.

Jessica Meyers: I love it. Let’s think. Um, something I think other people should know, I’m a big believer it has to be a good fit. And a good fit is what drives progress. Um, I kind of like to describe it to my clients as like, you know, those pair of jeans that fit just right and you go to them over and over again, that needs to be your coach, right? You need to

Dr. Betty DeLass: I love that analogy.

Jessica Meyers: if they don’t fit, if they’re uncomfortable, if you’re not comfortable in them, try something different, right? So, I guess I just believe in the right fit. And I am a no pressure, no stress because that’s I’m not I’m not here because I have to, I’m here because I want to. And so, I think that’s important.

Dr. Betty DeLass: I love everything you just said. It’s great. Okay. Um, is there anything special that you want to promote to the audience? whether you have like your online course thing coming out like anything at all. What’s what’s

Jessica Meyers: I would say right now what I would love to promote is my Facebook group because Instagram I’m putting stuff out there. But my Facebook group is where I’m doing free trainings and free resources. That’s where I’ll be kind of uh telling everybody about coaching programs or my course that’s coming up. And I just really believe in the community aspect and moms supporting moms, women supporting women. And so the Facebook group is where it’s at and it’s called Rise the Motherhood Tribe.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Amazing. Amazing. I need to join it. Okay. Yeah. Um then my last question and my favorite question to ask everyone is what do you want to be known for?

Jessica Meyers: Man, so big like big dreams. I would love to make an impact on these women’s lives to where their kids look to their mom and say, “Thanks for doing the hard work.” Like you changed the trajectory of our family and you changed the trajectory of our relationship because it is if I help a mom, that mom helps her kids and her spouse and it’s like a generational effect, right? And so I used to want to work with kids and then I realized, oh no, I need to start with the moms, right? Um or the parents because that’s where a lot of influence is and that indirectly helps all the kids. So I think just like building that community and giving that hope and light to the moms and in turn benefiting the whole family.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Amazing. Yeah. Speaking words to my soul there. I feel same clinical ethos there. 100%.

Jessica Meyers: Yes.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Okay. Um, where can we find you? How can we find you? I know you dropped the Facebook group. Um, what’s your Instagram website? Yeah. All the things once more again so that everyone all the things.

Jessica Meyers: I love it. So, yarrowtherapy.com. That’s therapy within the state of Utah. Um, Facebook group is Rise the Motherhood Tribe. Jessica Coaching is my profile. And then Instagram is JessicaMeyers_coaching. My last name is M E Y E R S. Otherwise, you’ll find other Jessica Myers. Like there’s a million of those.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Yeah.

Jessica Meyers: Think think Meyers Lemon or the Meyers Cleaning Product. M E Y E R S.

Dr. Betty DeLass: Perfect. Perfect. Thank you for clarifying those things. Thank you so much for being on the spotlight series. Thank you for being a light here in Utah and across the world. Thank you for all you’re doing with the community and again spending some more time with me.

Jessica Meyers: Of course. Thank you, Betty. Thank you for all you’re doing.
