SPD & Pubic Joint Pain in Utah

Specialized Pelvic Therapy for Pain-Free Movement at Reborn Pelvic Health & Wellness

Pelvic girdle pain—including Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)—can make walking, rolling over in bed, or even standing painful and frustrating. Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or long past delivery, you don’t have to live with it.

At Reborn Pelvic Health & Wellness, we specialize in restoring stability and function to the pubic joint and surrounding muscles—so you can move confidently and pain-free again.

What Is SPD / Pubic Joint Pain?

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) occurs when the pubic symphysis joint—where the left and right pelvic bones meet—becomes unstable, inflamed, or misaligned.

This can cause:

  • Sharp or aching pain in the front of the pelvis
  • Discomfort when walking, climbing stairs, or standing on one leg
  • Clicking or grinding sensations in the pubic area
  • Radiating pain to the inner thighs, groin, or hips
  • SPD is common during pregnancy due to hormonal changes and ligament laxity but can persist long after delivery without the right treatment.

Common Causes of SPD Pain

  • Pregnancy-related joint instability
  • Ligament laxity from hormonal changes
  • Muscle imbalance between pelvic stabilizers
  • Trauma or falls to the pelvic region
  • Postpartum weakness or poor movement mechanics
  • Poor coordination between abdominal and pelvic muscles

How Reborn Pelvic Health Treats SPD & Pubic Joint Pain

We use evidence-based pelvic physical therapy to restore symmetry, strength, and neuromuscular control—relieving pressure on the pubic joint and improving your ability to move without pain.

Our personalized care includes:

  • Targeted pelvic and core stabilization exercises
  • Manual therapy to realign and release surrounding tissues
  • Muscle balance and gait training
  • Internal pelvic floor assessments to reduce asymmetrical pull
  • Movement retraining for pain-free daily activities
  • Postural re-education and breathwork

You’ll learn how to move, lift, and exercise safely while your pelvis regains its natural support system.

Dr. Betty’s passion for pelvic health and whole person wellness is immeasurable! I’ve gone to traditional physical therapy clinics in years past and found it difficult to keep/schedule appointments with young kids in tow. I have also went blindly to an in network provider only to find that it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Betty offers IN HOME concierge PT services and a FREE 15 min phone consultation to see if she’s a good fit/what to expect/etc. Necessary forms can be filled out online prior to the appointment to maximize evaluation and treatment time. She has lots of tools in her at home tool kit! My kids are older now but I find schedules keep getting busier so without Betty coming to my home, I fear I would still just be trying to run through my nagging running injury. I am back to enjoying pain free miles! Compassion and convenience don’t often go together but with Betty they do!

Betty is PHENOMENAL at what she does. From our first conversation, it was really apparent that she has a huge wealth of knowledge about everything relating to pelvic PT, and she’s super passionate about it! I’ve had just three appointments with her so far, and have already seen huge improvement in my pelvic health–my menstrual cramps have gone from debilitating to nearly gone! And we’re working on lots of other things to help me gain awareness of, take responsibility for, and optimize my pelvic health!
